This room has a 1:5 adult to child ratio. The main 2-3 room has been split into three areas. Messy, physical and sensory.
The staff in these rooms plan activities for the children on a daily basis, so that we can provide effective quality experiences. Within these areas the staff provide construction, role play, book corner and small world the children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Children's work is colourfully displayed on walls, sent home or kept in their individual learning profiles. The child's key worker updates the children's individual learning files regularly noting the child's significant achievements such as "I can use the potty and I can run and skip".
The Staff in the 2-3 room are also trained in the practice of using the birth to three framework.
The framework has three key features in the learning opportunities for very young children.
  • Relationships
  • Responsive Care
  • Respect
It is based on the fundamental understanding that environment, health, community and family all influence the childs personal development and shape the childrens early experiences.

Staff observe the children regularly through written observations and close assessments to ensure they are planning for the individual needs of the child.

The staff in the 2-3 room are trained and have valuable experience in preparing children in the transition from nappies to potty/toilet training. They work in partnership with parents to ensure the children are receiving complete support through this important time.

We are a partnership nursery, this means that we can offer parents the facility of a funded place, which may help towards your nursery fees.
